Magnesium – The Critical Missing Mineral That Controls Our Health

Updated: Oct 10, 2023

Something as simple as taking Magnesium can have a huge impact on how we feel – our energy, our sleep, our cognitive health, our heart health, and our muscles as well as promoting a sense of calm and ease.

Signs of Magnesium Deficiency

Low Energy: chronic fatigue, physical and mental fatigue, lethargy, poor memory, and concentration

Poor Mood: depression, anxiety, stress, sleeplessness, insomnia, tension, headaches, irritability

Physical performance: low energy production, poor cardiovascular fitness, muscle cramps, muscle weakness

Why is Magnesium Missing?

Mineral shortage in soil: Modern farming methods deplete the soil, and as magnesium is

water soluble it can easily leach to the lower layers of the soil when we water or irrigate. In

2004, the Journal of the American College of Nutrition released a study, which compared

modern day nutrient content of crops with 1950 levels. Declines were found to be as much as

40%.

Extensive food processing methods: Refined processed foods tend to have very low magnesium content. Fizzy drinks for instance contain phosphates which bind with magnesium and render it unavailable to the body.
